Participate in Our Special Events
Have fun and help literacy by participating in our special events. We have signature events that occur periodically that help us raise funds and public awareness:

READ for CHANGE

Your participation can help make them a success.

You can also create your own event to benefit BALF. Just choose your venue, invite your friends, and we will add the literacy dimension with a special speaker and information tailored to your interest. Dinner parties, cocktail parties, teas, wine tasting are just some of the possibilities. Contact us if you would like more information.

Volunteer to Teach
There are many opportunities if you would like to help adults learn. We need tutors to work with adults as important adjuncts to their classroom based instruction. Volunteers are also trained to provide the primary instruction to adults by working with them one-on-one or in small groups.

Volunteer to Raise Awareness and Funds for Literacy
The Boston Adult Literacy Fund has a growing corps of volunteers who work with us. Volunteers work on our special events, assist us with office tasks, or develop and implement a project of their own. Internships are available.
