Boston
Adult Literacy Fund's Special Events
The Boston Adult Literacy Fund issues the 2005 challenge to all regional book clubs to participate in the upcoming Read for CHANGE read-a-thon to raise money to support adult education! While the book club which raises the most money will win special recognition, every dollar raised will support the efforts of adults to cross the literacy threshold. All you have to do is collect pledges for the total number of hours you promise to read from February 1 to February 15, and then mail them to the Boston Adult Literacy Fund. All reading counts - novels, newspapers, articles, press releases, Internet, even cereal boxes!
Share the joy of reading. You can curl up with a good book or three and raise money for literacy in the Boston Adult Literacy Fund's reading challenge. Every hour you read makes a difference in the lives of adults who want to learn.
Set a goal for the hours you will read and ask friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers to sponsor you - or sponsor yourself.
READ for CHANGE is a perfect way for individuals, book clubs, college groups, and corporate teams to raise money for literacy by guilt free indulgence in the pleasure of reading. Click here to download the form.
Compete in our college competition. The winning college's name is engraved on the College Champion Cup which your group can display for the year.
Have your company sponsor READ for CHANGE. Company support builds team spirit and fosters competition among branches or departments. You can agree to match the amount your employees contribute.
