Boston Adult Literacy Fund Strategic Program Initiatives

Student-to-Student Program
The Boston Adult Literacy Fund recruits and trains adult literacy students to share their experiences of life without an education with middle school students. The purpose of this program is to encourage young students to stay in school and focus on their studies.

Many adult learners feel positive when they can transmute their difficulties of living without sufficient formal education into a positive learning experience for younger learners. In both informal classroom settings and larger assemblies, Student-to-Student speakers galvanize their audience and engage the middle school students in questions that lead them to visualize what life without basic skills is really like.
